Good morning all, another beautiful day in paradise!

Please start by reading Proverbs 2;7-10.

Verse 7 reminds us that the LORD is the source of true wisdom. In today’s lesson we shall be instructed that walking in biblical wisdom is not just an intellectual exercise, but more importantly it is a moral and spiritual experience, revealed through words like “upright, godly ones, you,” and “soul.” Biblical wisdom is to impact all parts of a believer’s life.

In verse 7, the word translated “upright” literally means to be morally correct when dealing with others. Understand it in this way, God gives wisdom to you when you need discernment of how to speak with someone else, regardless of their spiritual condition. We often marvel as to how Jesus responded to the devil and the religious leaders who all desired to trap Him in some kind of falsehood. Because Jesus was constantly under the influence of godly wisdom, He always knew the best words to speak to His accusers.

You see my friend, biblical wisdom is not just for the brain, it is more importantly for the heart. After all, Jesus told us that whatever is in the heart is that which comes out of the mouth. I can’t say for you, but I sure need some of that kind of wisdom. The word “upright” could also be correctly rendered “fair.” A wise person, such as Jesus, will always deal with others fairly.

Perhaps, this is a good time to stop and pray for biblical wisdom, the kind of wisdom that changes how we perceive life circumstances, and also files down the sharpness of a person’s tongue! Such wisdom leads to inner joy, peace and happiness. However, remember that God gives wisdom to those who are willing to put hands and feet to it, oh, and maybe to those of us who need to speak kindly when dealing with people. As our author states in verse 10, “For wisdom will enter your heart, And knowledge will be pleasant to your soul – now that is the real “soul food!”

How is the “Prayer and Praise” thing working for you? Stay with it, it takes 28 days to form a new habit. You can do this!

Seeking wisdom with you, Neal
