Good morning. The snow is gone; the election is over and this is another day of your life. A day that provides each of us with the opportunity to live in fear or faith. Today’s weather will be as cold as many people’s attitudes. Perhaps today, just like many days far behind us, Proverb 1:7 shouts from heaven, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; Fools despise wisdom and instruction.” It would appear that yesterday a majority determined to be a nation of “fools.”

Now look at verses 8-19. Within these verses we are told that the “way of sinners” leads to further destruction. As I read verse 11, “If they say, ‘Come with us, Let us lie in wait for blood, Let us ambush the innocent without cause;” I hear the angels on high scream “ABORTION!” Oh my, how many little ones have been murdered under the banner of “Women’s Rights?”

As those who freely accept such practices, verse 13 gives us insight into their reasoning, “We will fill our houses with spoil;” so many babies have died because it made better economic sense to end that precious little life, rather than to go to the expense and inconvenience of giving them life. After all, our legal system has made it almost impossible to fund the thousands of adoptions required to give the little ones life. It would appear to this ‘ol feller that abortion is a decision of economics rather than a decision of right and wrong, as those who deny God “find all kinds of precious wealth.”

Once again Solomon speaks wisdom to those of us who have chosen to follow God, “My son, do not walk in the way with them. Keep your feet from their path. For their feet run to evil and they hasten to shed blood.” It would appear that “evil” is alive and well; so where are the righteous? Those who stand against evil, those who stand on the side of God? Is it possible that “Christians” attend church Sunday after Sunday and yet many have followed the invitation of evil to “Throw in your lot with us, we shall all have one purse.” (v.14) (Socialism?)

Could it be that as we have all enjoyed living out of the purse of evil, now we shall all fall under the wrath of All-Mighty GOD? As Jesus told HIs first disciples, “Thos who live by the sword, will die by the sword.” There will come a day when all who live under the veil of evil will fully understand verse 19, “So are the ways of everyone who gains by violence; It takes away the life of its possessors.”

Dear friends, it would appear that there is a dark cloud of evil over the United States of America, yet GOD is still in full control. Perhaps now more than ever before, it is time to heed the wisdom of Joshua when he stated, “Choose for yourselves today whom you will serve,. but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”

Today, we will either celebrate the advancement of evil because of its promise of wealth and prosperity, or we will choose to stand with God as the light of this world! After all, the light of Christ shines the brightest when this world is the darkest

Please stop now and slowly read the rest of Proverbs 1:20-33. You see my friend, standing in the wisdom of biblical truth is still the best choice. Each of us must be wise as we maneuver through these “days of evil,” claiming Proverbs 1:33 for our lives, “But he who listens to me shall live securely, and will be at ease from the dread of evil.”

Standing firmly with Christ with you, Neal
