Well, all of yesterday’s rain went around us again; maybe today?
It was 54 years ago today that a super cute little gal agreed to live with this coyote for the rest of her earthly days, and so far, she has done a really good job of keeping that promise! Miss Deb was 18 and I was 19, full of energy and anticipation when we were married; today we are both over 70, with a shortage of energy and still full of anticipation.
Almost everything about our lives has changed over the last 54 years, yet here we are, still in love! God has blessed us with 3 totally amazing children; the baby will turn 48 in December. Those 3 have increased to 6 awesome children through marriage, and through marriage, they have blessed us with 12 grandchildren. Oh, but wait, two of those 12 grands are married, and one has blessed us with two quite handsome great-grandsons!
As we all know, life goes on with or without us. Miss Deb and I have been very blessed to get to share our journey across this ‘ol ball of dirt with our best friend. For us, it has been a great ride, primarily because of for our tenth anniversary we rededicated our marriage vows as new followers of Jesus Christ.
For the far majority of my life, I have had to share this beautiful lady with others: children, grandchildren and now great-grandchildren. I’ve also had to share her with a heap of dear friends, church families and schools as a substitute teacher. For ten years I had to share her with an office full of men, as she kept all three of them successfully serving FCA.
We have lived in Wyoming, Arizona, Nebraska, Montana, South Dakota, and now back in Wyoming. This amazing lady has moved 17 times with me over the years, each time making new friends, growing a family and treating me far better than I deserved.
Today, we live in Lusk, Wyoming. Sure, we would really like to live outside of town, but that probably won’t happen. Miss Deb leads women’s Bible studies and follows me around as I teach and preach at three different near-by churches on a regular basis.
The exciting part about our lives is that God is not done with us yet! Along with remodeling a really old house, we stay busy with ministry opportunities and running up and down the road looking for church planters who are willing and able to plant churches in Wyoming. All I can say about our lives is this, “God is good all of the time!”
On this special day, we wish to say, “THANK YOU!” for allowing us to be a part of your life. Each person around us is such a special blessing to us and we are grateful that you are willing to put up with us.
I close with this thought: The Bible states that there is “no marriage in heaven.” That’s fine, because I will get to spend eternity with the Lord Jesus, many friends, and my best friend, Miss Deb! And who knows, we might even get to find our ‘ol Coffee dog there???
Above all, we hope that we will find you there? Do you know Jesus as your Savior, if not, please allow Him to be that special person in your life starting today! Both Miss Deb and I can tell you for sure, life is great we when you are walking with Jesus and a dear friend!
Celebrating God’s goodness with you, Neal
